BOlLER-FLUE FASTENING- Specification of Letters Patent.

To a/ZZ whom it may concern,.-
Be it known that I, LEE EAGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Arapaho, in the county of Custer, in the Territory of Oklahoma,have invented a new and useful Improvement in Boiler-Tube Fastenings, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in steam-boiler Hues and Hue-plates or boilerheads.
The objects of my improvements are, Hrst, to more securely and more permanently fasten the ends of the Hues to the Hue-plates; second, to prevent the leakage of both steam and water; third, to prevent the burning of the Hues. I attain these objects by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure I is a section of end of Hue, Hueplate, and the Hue nut or fastener. Fig. II is an end view of Hue nut or fastener, showing it as it would appear from inside the boiler. Fig. III is a section in quarter of Hue-nut, showing the supports in the water-chamber o o of the nut.

Within-this water-chamber are ribs or supports uniting the two parts of the nut, as shown in Figs. II and III.
I am aware that prior to my invention boilertube fastenings have been made containing water-space to facilitate the circulation of the water about the Hue-joint. I therefore do not claim such a combination broadly; but
What I do claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A device of the character described, comprising a tubular extension or guard integral with the Hue-sheet and a sleeve or nut having screw-threaded connection with said extension or guard upon the interior of the latter and having corresponding connection with the Hue upon its exterior.
