Description
No. 793,599. PATENTED JUNE 27, 1909.
H. MIKOREY.
PAINT SPRAYING DEVICE.
APPLICATION FILED MAB.18, 1905.
UNITED STATES Patented June 2'7, 1905.
PATENT OFFICE.
HANS MIKOREY, OF S GHGNEBERG, NEAR BERLIN, GERMANY, ASSIGNOR TO THE FIRM OF W. GRAAFF & COMPANY GESELLSCHAFI HIT BE- SCHRANKTER HAFTUNG, OF BERLIN, GERMANY.
PAlNT-SPRAYING DEVICE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of LettersPatent No. 793,599, dated June 2'7, 1905.
Application filed March 18, 1905. Serial No. 250,852.
To ctZZ whom it may concern:-
Be it known that I, HANS MIKOREY, a subject of the German Emperor, residing at No. 13 Wartburgstrasse, Schoneberg, near Berlin, Germany, have invented new and useful Improvements in Paint-Spraying Devices, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a spraying-nozzle for paint-spraying devices for painting purposes and the like, and has for its object that the mouth of the air-nozzle, as well as that of the paint-nozzle, can both be enlarged anddiminished independently of each other, which is attained by the arrangement of slidable and adjustable plates, the position of the latter determining the size of the nozzle-openings.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a longitudinal section of the spraying-nozzle. Fig. 2 is a cross-section on the line A B of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is an elevation of the nozzle. I
In the interior of both nozzles, one of which serves for the discharge of paint and the other for the discharge of air, there are provided two metal plates or slides a and a, adapted to move longitudinally against the external conical-shaped walls, in that fixed screw-threaded pins 6 extend through longitudinal slots 0 of the walls of the nozzles. .The screw-threaded pins are provided externally with nuts cl and can thus be adjusted in any suitable slidable position.
Itis obvious that by moving the plates at a toward or away from the mouths of the noz- I zles the former can be enlarged or diminished at will and that by the employment of two plates, one for the air-nozzle and one for the paint-nozzle, which can both be adjusted independently of eachother, the width of the mouth of one nozzle can be varied independently of that of the other. Consequently the discharge of paint can be regulated independently of the discharge of air.
Having now particularly described and ascertained the nature of my said invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, I declare that what I claim, and wish to secure by Letters Patent, is
In a spraying-nozzle for paint-spraying devices, two nozzles arranged side by side, one for the supply of paint and the other for the supply of air and each provided with an adjustable slide for independently regulating the discharge-openings substantially as described and shown in the drawings.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
HANS MIKOREY.
Witnesses HENRY HASPER, WOLDEMAR HAUPT.
