Bumm; andgeeoe cRosBY,'0f-Lakevi1lage, ifi-the county of Belknap; ma State of New Hampshire, have invented a neiv anduseful Improvement in Edge-Planes for Boots and Shoes; and we do hereby` declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof,referenee being had to the accompanying-drawings; andto the letters of reference marked thereon. i l i Y The nature of our invention consistsin constructing edge-planes forfplaning-tlie edgesof soles of boots and 'shoes,with. an adjustable guard-plate also with a bolsterjegainst whiehaportion of the h and rests, to allow the band to be a's near the cutter as possible, which renders the labor -much easier, at the same time protects 'the hand frominju'ry; also,- of peculiarly-shapedthroat, to insure the free nnd.ensy discharge of the chips.
