vBe it knownithat LIDANIEL CLBURN, of Loami, county-of Sangumon, State ofIllnois, haveinvented 'anenf and useful Improvement on the Jaws. of an Ordinary Wrenchgland I do hereby declare that thefollowing isa full, clear, and exact description of the construction angl operation of the same, reference beinghed to the accompanying rawing, andto the letters of reference marked thereon. 4
I construct'the jaws of any ordinary wrenchso that oneA is much'longer than the other. (In the accompanying draiing the lower jaw is constructed longer than the up-pcr.) I make the longer jaw, A, with a. slightly concave surface, and the shorter one, B, straight The longer one, with the concave surface, is enough longer than the other so as to allow them to slide easily around the topjvithout removing the wrench fromit.
In the ordinary wrench, with jews of equal length and square surfaces, the wrench inust always be taken olf to geta fresh grasp; This construction of `the-jaws obviutes that, and does the work-in one-fourth of the time What I claim as invention, ind desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
