APPLICATION IiLED IBB.10, 1904.
F K12- FIGS- UNITED STATES Patented A ril 18, 1905.
- HEINRIOH'THIEMANN, F DESSAU, GERMANY.
SLIPP ER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent NO. 787,481, dated April 18, 1905.
Application filed Pebruary 10,1904=. Serial No. 192,944.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HEINRICH THIEMANN, a subject of the Duke of Anhalt, residing at 22 Elisabethstrasse, Dessau, in the Duchy of Anhalt and Empire of Germany, have invented new and useful Improvements in Slippers, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a paper slipper, which consists in its body that is to say, in sole and upperof'one iece.
This slip er diflers om such heretofore known in t at on each side of the upper one part of the double sole is fastened. A heel part may be provided on one of the soles, so as to make a shoe f the slipper. The folded parts are connected withieach other in any desired manner at the oints Where they meet. This may be effected by sewing them with thread, yarn, &c., by fastening them together with wire clamps, rivets, &c., by glumg, or in any other way, it being understood instance.
that the inanner of fasteningthem together does not form part of the present invention.
The invention is shown in the accompany-' in drawings in various forms.
igures 1 and 5 show the blank used ine'ach Figs. 2 and 6 show the slipper in' side view. F1gs.3 and 7 are top views. Figs. 4 and 8 showlt in a section on the lines 4 4 and 8 8 in Figs. 2 and 6. Figs- 1 to 4 and 5 to 8 belong to one constructional form each.
In the constructional form according to Figs. 1 to 4 the blank, Fig. 1, consists of two soles a and I), connected with each other b the strengtheningiece c, which soles fa over each other w on the blank is bent or folded along the hatched parts d d, wherein tlfieflgluing edge 6, provided at the front edge 0 tween the two soles a and b. The bands 1, f, and g serve for the reinforcement of the'upper, the latter band serving particularly for, protectlon against tearing of the edge of the upper.
pendent so e strengthening-piece, c, is fastened be-.
one sole an additional piece h, which when the blank is folded along the hatched lines (1, d, and 11 forms a heel art. In the same manner as the gluing e ge e is fastened on the up er a between the front parts of'the two so es a and b the gluing edge 71 of the additional piece h is fastened between the rear arts of the soles a and b. It is expedient-to bind also the upper edge of the heel part 72; by a band 7', of Woven material, and at the lower edge of the upper or at any other desired point a strengthening-band k may also be provided in all the constructional forms described.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. A slipper consisting of an upper, and independent soles which are separately'connected .to the respective sides of the upper and superposed on each other.
' 2. A slip er consisting of an u per, independent so es which are separate y connected to the respective sides of the upper and superposed on each other, and a heel-piece connected to said slipper.
3. A- sliplper-consisting of an es which are separate y connected to the respective sides of the upper and super osed on each other, and a heel-piece ulpper, inde- 'ome only to one of the soles in the slipperlank. In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specificationin the two subscribing witnesses.
HEINRICH THIEMANN.
