SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 777,394, dated December 13, 1904.
Application filed February 9, 1904. Serial No. 192,820. (No model.)
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, J AMES BoDDEN, a sub ject of the King of Great Britain and Ireland, residing at Hargreaves Spindle I/Vorlzs, ()ld- 5 ham, in the county of Lancaster, England, have invented new and useful Improvements in Lubricating Means for Spindles, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improved means I for attaching oil-cups to the spindle-bolsters for lubricating what are known as self-contained spindles used in ring -.and traveler and other spinning and doubling frames and also flier-throstle spindles of the same type without stopping the revolution of the spindles or lifting them out of their bolsters.
The manner in which my said invention is to be performed or carried into practical effect will be readily understood on reference to the sheet of drawings hereunto annexed and the following explanation thereof.
Figure 1 is an elevation, and Fig. 2 a vertical section, of the bolster for supporting the spindle, showing the application thereto of an 2 5 improved means for lubricating the same; and.
Fig. 3 is a partial section showing a modification thereof.

According to Fig. 2 the extreme lower end of the bolster e is made conical, and the inside of the oil-cup (Z is provided with a shoulder at f, so that a liquid-tight joint is made by screwing on the cup (Z. I claim as my invention- 1. A bolster adapted to. support a rotating spindle, having its lower end externally threaded, in combination with an oil-cup internally threaded, said cup and the end of the spindle abutting against each other, one with a conical surface and the other with a shoulder 6 whereby a liquid-tight joint is produced.
