Description

UNITED STATES Patented August 23, 1904.
PATENT OFFICE.
FINE-FUEL-FEEDING APPARATUS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N o. 768,482, dated August 23,1904.
Application filed January 6, 1904.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be itknown that I, MATIHS PRIGGA, residing at 33 Kurljandslaja, 15th Quartier, St. Petersburg, in the Empire of Russia, have invented new and useful Improvements in Fine-Fuel- Feeding Apparatus, fof which the following is a specification. y
My invention relates to a spray-producer which is chiefly designed for spraying massut to be burned in steam-generators and other apparatus.
In the accompanying drawings, wherein the4 invention is represented, Figure l is a vertical longitudinal section of a constructional form. Fig. 2 is a plan, and Fig. 3 is an end View, of the same. Fig. 4: is an end View of a modification. Fig. 5 is a vertical longitudinal section of another modification.
For the admission of the steamer a like medium required for the spraying I provide a pipe rounded part to adapt the spray-producer for use in heating vertical steam-generators.
At the upper surface of the pipe a I provide a rim la, which leaves an opening toward the front-that is to say, above the slit d. rIhe rim /t has at its upper edge a flange to which the cap z' is secured. An aperture j enables the pipe 0 to be inserted into the chamber formed below the cap vl. The massut-admission pipe o is beveled off at its end eX- tending below the cap and Hattened in front, where it is provided with dents or teeth la, by which the massut issuing from the pipe c is distributed over the surface By this spray-producer the massut may also In the modification Serial No. 187,978. (No model.)
be sprayed with the aid of compressed air instead of steam. In Acase the dimensions are increased the compressed air may be employed for spraying coal-dust, sawdust,or the like, which is to be burned. 'Ihe coal-dust is fed to the apparatus under the action of gravity.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
l. A spray-producer for massut, coal-dust and the like, consisting of a steam-pipe having a flattened front part and terminating at the outer edge in a slit, a rim surrounding the upper surface of the said front part, a massutadmission pipe extending substantially at rightangles to and terminating above this su rface and having a dented edge bearing upon the same, substantially as herein set forth.
2. A spray-producer for massut, coal-dustand the like, consisting of a steam-pipe hav- Aing a flattened front part and terminating at the outer edgein a slit, a rim surrounding the upper surface of the said front part, a massutadmissionpipe terminating above this surface and having a dented edge bearing upon the same, a cap provided above the Hattened part of the steam-pipe and secured to the said rim upon such flattened part, said massut-pipe eX- tending through the opening in the cap and toward the said surface, substantially as herein set forth.
3. A spray-producer for massut, coal-dust and the like, consisting of a steam-pipe having a flattened front part and terminating at the outer edge Vin aslit, a tongue interrupting the said slit, a rim surrounding the upper surface of the said front part, and a massut-admission pipe terminating above this surface and having a dented edge bearing upon the same, substantially as herein set forth.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
. MATIHS PRIGGA.
