SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 767,156, dated August 9, 1904.

Be it known that I, LEON LEMOS, a citizen of the United States, residing at San Francisco, in the county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display-Card Attachments, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in attachments for display-cards such as are used to indicate in store-windows the prices of fabrics and other merchandise, the object of my invention being to provide a cheap and simple attachment by which the display-card may be secured to the merchandise without showing the means of attachment thereof, thereby providing a display-card neat in appearance.
My invention also has the advantage that the display-card is much more durable than when pins or other devices are used which make holes in the card, so that by use the number of holes so produced in the card render it unsightly and eventually entirely worthless.
\Vith my invention a display-card can be used for an indefinite period. I A further object of my invention is to provide an attachment which can be manufactured and sold at a very low price and take up very little space until used, when it can be easily affiXed to the back of the card.
My invention therefore resides in the novel construction, combination, and arrangement of parts for the above ends, hereinafter fully specified, and particularly pointed out in the claims.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view showing a card equipped with my improvement in use on aroll of fabric. Fig. 2 is a front view of the card on an enlarged scale. Fig. 3 is a vertical section through the card and the attachment. Fig. 4: is an enlarged perspective view of the attachment, on a still larger scale, before it is affixed to the card. Fig. 5 is avertical section of the same. Fig. 6 is a vertical section of a modification.
Referring to the drawings, 1 represents a display-card. shown in Fig. l as affixed to a roll of fabric 2.

through which, the rubber being first bent, the pin is thrust, so that its head is received in said socket.
The attachment is sold in the form shown in Fig. 4:, with a pin embedded in a block of rubber and the rubber having the gummed side, as shown.
In use the adhesive side of the block of rubber is moistened and applied to the back of the display-card, so as to be caused to adhere thereto, and then the card is ready for attachment to the merchandise.
While the preferred form of the invention is that in which one side of the rubber blockis adhesive, it is to be understood that my invention is not limited to this construction, as an inferior imitation might be sold in which none of the sides of the block were adhesive, but the purchaser himself would be expected to apply an adhesive substance before attaching it to the back of the display-card. This, however, would be within the spirit and scope of my invention. Further, my invention is not limited to rubber as the material of which the block is composed.
. I claim 1. An attachment for display-cards consisting of an integral block of suitable material having the headed end of a pin embedded therein, and having a flat side adapted to be adhesively secured to the back of the displaycard, substantially as described.
