To all whom it mayconicern: l

Be it known that I, NORA PARKER, a citizen of the United States'of America, residing at Oxford, in the county of Oakland and State to the front of a corset;

of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Corset-Stays,of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.

This invention relates tonew and useful improvements in corsets, and relates more particularly to the steels or stays therefor, and a iiexible stay date itself to the various bending-movements ofthe body, a further object being to make a stay which may be securely fastened at its ends to the fabric to prevent the ends from wearing or working through the fabricg and at the same time provide means whereby the stay 'may have a limited movement upon itself to accommodate itself to the wearer.

-In applying my invention tol the `construction of supports for corsets or garments genbe used for dresserally it maybe manufactured and sold asiaM new article of manufacture, and when I say set-steel.

To those at all familiar With the annoyance of the ordinary corset-steel the advantages of my construction will be readily apparent.

-Having thus fullydescribed my invention, what I claim is` Y f 1. A stay for wearing-apparel comprising a plurality of members'having telescopic engagement with each other, means on one of said members having inturnedends for embracing the other member, and means passed through said means and its member for securing said means and member together, the securing means being confined between said 'member and the said means with inturned ends..

2. A stay forv wearing-apparel comprising a plurality of members havingtelescopic en.-

vgagernent with each other, means on one of `said members havlng inturneu endsfor embracing the other member and means integral with saidl means passed `through its member and upset upon the opposite side thereof.Y

3. A stay for wearing-apparel comprising a plurality of members having telescopic en gagement with each other, means on one of IOC said members having inturned ends for. embracing the other member, and means integral with said means passed through lits member and upset upon the opposite side thereof, the

upset portion being between said member and member and adapted to receive the other member, said clip having a portion punched .out

and passed through an aperture in its member and riveted upon the side of said member through which the punched-out portion passes, I 5 opposite that against which. said clip bears, l substantially as and for the purpose specified.
