IMPROVEMENT IN RAZOR-STROPS.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, J. P. HALL, of Wallingford, in the county of New Haven, and State ofConnecticut, have invented a new Improvement in Razor-Straps; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connec tion v vith' the accompanying drawings, and the'lettersof reference markedthereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description oi' the same, and which said drawings constitute part of thisvspecification, and represent, in-

i Thisinvention relates to an improvement in strops, such as are used for sharpening razors, and consists in `the arrangement of a drawer as'a receptacle Afor the razor within the case, independent of the strop, the said case being inserted within a second case to receive the strop, the second case dividing the principal ease into two parts, the other partbeing for the reception of the drawer. V

In order to the clear understanding of my invention, I will proceed todescribe the the accompanying drawings.

A is the outer or 4principal case, formed of suiiieient size to receive the drawer B and the strop C, and

same as illustrated in `Within the said case-is inserted a second case, a, denoted in red, iigs. 2 and 3, the'said second case being of the v size of and for the reception, of the strop C. The drawer B is formed in any convenient manner, so as to pass freely vinto a space in the caseabove the internal case a, as denoted in figs. 2 and 3. This drawer is provided with a knob, d, so as to be drawn out, as denoted in blue. Into this drawer the razor is placed, and thus the strop and razor are retained within the same case.

I am aware that a drawer for the reception of the razor has been arranged so as to be inserted into the strop itself, but this arrangement increases the size of the strop and expense of manufacture, and is practically no convenience,- but rather an inconvenience in the use of the strop.

Ido not, therefore, broadly claim the combination of a drawer with a razor-strop, but

What I do claim as new and useful, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The arrangementof the drawer B within the case A, when thel said case A is constructed for the reception of the strop C, in a case within the principal case A., substantially as herein set forth, as a new article of manufacture.
