A represents a. piece of sheet metnl, bent or 4doubled over, rso'as to4 form s spring, land also the back plate of a. shawl-pin; the clasp being formed by theV spring end ba'ck plate, es seen inthe drawing. B sithe spring. C is the hack plate. Apertures cre mede through the plate'B by cutting through it and'turning the clips d, so that they form ears for the pivot or joint of' the pin, and also for the hook c, whichholds the pin in place. F is the pin, which is so bent thatl two points are formed; one, F, being like the ordinary shawl-pin, while the other point, G, is-turned so as to stand at or near a. right angle rvith the first, and pass up through the plate B, and through the spring, for which orifices are provided in both. Whore the zingleis formed, the eye for thejoint-is mede, `which joint is formed by a rivet, n'hich-pesses-through `the eye and the eersel, as seen in the drawing.v t To use the clasp, the pin is fastened to the cout or outer garment in the ordinary menner, or as n. shznvllpin is fastened. Then, to secure the ticket, the end, h, of the spring is raised and the ticket is inserted, as seen in red in the drawing. The tension of the spring Will force the ticket on to thepoint G, which Vwill perforate" it, and hold it until the spring is again raised for its release.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent-- The point G and the spring B, in combination with the pin' F,subst a,ntia.lly as described,
