TOASTER.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Letters Patent No. 741,720, dated October 20, 1903.
Application filed January 30, 1903. Serial No. 141,175. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.- 1
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is an isometrical representation of my improved toaster. Fig. 2 is a section of one of the fines. Fig. 3 is a section showing the means for holding the fines in position.
The base-plate l is made from sheetmaterial, having the side edges 2 turned over on the base-plate. The ends are each formed of the vertical bends 3, horizontal bends 4, and return vertical bends 5. The vertical bends nection with one edge of the base-plate and has sections 9 formed at an angle to the main portion in order that the main portion will be held free of the stove when in use.
By the employment of the flues an air-space is formed through which air circulates, thereby keeping the fiues cooler than the loase-v plate, and as the articles to be toasted rest upon the fines they will not burn, but a nice brown crisp will be imparted to them.
I claim 'as' my invention- 7 1. A toaster comprising a solid base-plate and a series of independent fines located with their open face in contact with the base-plate and held against lengthwise movement.
2. A toaster comprising a base-plate two sides of which are'formed with two vertical and one horizontal sections, one of the Vertical sections of each side formed'with openings, and a series of independent fiues located over thebase-plate and in the openings, and held against displacement by the other vertical section of each side.
' CARL A. ROSELAND.
