fective, economical, and convenient means for securing the box-fronts together into a nest, to more effectively prevent the removal of either the door or door-frame from the outside of the nest, and to accomplish such other and further superiprities in construction and operation as may obtain-in the devices hereinafter described and claimed.Y
In the accompanying drawings, forming a.
part of this specification, Figure 1 is a front elevation of a nest Of four lock-box fronts. Fig. 2 is a section of a front on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a section On the line 3 3 of Fig. l. Fig. 4 is a plan view of a double socket tO receive the adjacent lugs on the bottom edges of two adjacent fronts at the bottom of the nest. Fig. 5-isr a plan view Of a single socket adapted to receive one of such lugs, and Fig. 6 is a fragmentary rear plan view Of an end of the door. f
Like reference-numerals indicate like parts in all the figures.
lO is the lock-box door, and'll the doorframe, together constituting thelock-box front. One edge and only one Vedge of each door-frame is provided Withone or more of the Offset lugs 12 12, adapted to engage behind the adjacent edge of the adjacent doorframe, thereby interlocking one with the other. The lugsy l2 12 on the lower edge of the lowest door-frame in any vertical row in the nest of boxes enter the sockets 13 13, which are secured to the woodwork Of the nest in such manner that they cannot be removed while the boxfronts are in place. One or more of the other edges of each doorframe, but not the same edge first above named, may be providedwithrone or more lugs 14 14, adapted to be, screwed or nailed to the woodwork-of the boxes. v
. As ares'ult of the construction setv forth in the foregoingparagraph it becomes possible to have all of the door-frames in a nest eX- actly alike and completely interchangeable ,and also possible to positively secure all of do not limit myself to such special forms or to less than fall the possible formsin which the inventionas hereinafter claimed may be embodied.
I now claim- 1. Invja lockbox front, in combination, a door-frame havingasingleone of itsedges provided with one or more oifset lugs adapted to Aengage behind the adjacent door-frame in the nest, and having one Or more of itsother edges each provided with one or more lugs adapted tO be screwed or nailedfwithin the framework Of the' box, substantiallyas'specified.
2. In a lock-box front, in combination, a door-frame having a single one of its horizontal edges provided with one Or more odset lugs adapted to engage behind the adjacent door-frame in ,the nest, and having. each of itsvertical edges provided with a lug adapted to bescrewed or nailed within the framework of-the box, substantially as specified.
3. In a lock-boX-front, in combination, a door-frame having a single one of its edges provided with one or more osetlugs, metal sockets secured to the adjacent Wall of the box and adapted to engagesaid lugs,"and one Or more additional lugs onone or moreof the.v
