SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 727,817, dated May 12, 1903.
Application filed October 10, 1902. Serial No. 126,742. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN V. MACDONALD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newton Center, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Delivery- WVagons; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to delivery-wagons for grocers and others; and it consists in the; novel construction and combination of the parts hereinafter fully described and claimed. In the drawings, Figure 1 is a side viewof the body of a wagon constructed according to this invention. Fig. 2 is a cross-section through one of the curtain-rollers.
A is the frame of the body portion of a wagon, B is its top, and b represents the end uprights which support the top. B represents intermediate uprights provided wit-h bent portions 7). Spring curtain-rollers C are journaled in the end uprights and are provided with curtains c, which form the sides of the wagon-body when pulled down.
The curved portions 1) of the intermediate uprights permit thecurtain-rollers C to extend between the end uprights. The rear end uprights are provided with bent portions d, and D is a spring curtain-roller provided with a curtain d, which forms the end of the wagonbody when pulled down. The combination, with a wagon -body provided with a top, and uprights which support the top; of spring curtain-rollers journaled in the said uprights at the sides of the wagon-body, intermediate uprights provided with curved portions to clear the said rollers, and a spring-curtain journaled in the uprights at the rear of the wagon-body under the end portions of the aforesaid rollers, substantially as set forth.
