DRIVING MECHANISM FOR CENTRIFUGAL MACHINES.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Letters Patent NO. 725,832, dated. April 21, 1903.
Application filed August 25, 1902. Serial No. 120,916. (No model.)
T at whom itmay concern: E represents the rear portion of the frame,
Beit known that I, HARVEY FELDMEIER, a which is composed of a complementary upcitizen of the United States, and a resident of rightsemicylindrical hollow standard portion Littlefalls, in the county of Herkimer and e and a lower hollow casing portion 6. 5 State of New York, have invented a new and The front and rear frame parts D and E useful Improvement in Driving Mechanism are secured together to form the hollow standfor Centrifugal Machines, of which the followard and casing for the drive-gearing by suiting is a specification. able means, such as screws which pass through This invention relates to the driving meohholes in the rear frame part E and are to anism of that class of centrifugal machines screwed into screw-threaded holes e in the which are operated by handfor instance, front frame part D. centrifugal milk-testing machines embodying The spindle O and the drive-gearing for roa rotary head which is secured to the upper tating the same are mounted on the front end of the spindle and which carries the frame part D. The front standard portion (1-6 15 holders for the test-bottles. extends above the complementary rear por- I The object of the invention is to provide a tion e and its upper end f, which overhangs frame of exceedingly simple and inexpensive the standard portion 6, constitutes an upper construction which serves as the casing in bearing for the spindle. The spindle passes which the driving mechanism is mounted and through this bearing and is journaled at its 2o inclosed and as means for securing the malower-end in a step-bearingf, formed on the chine on a table or other support. lower portion of the front frame part D.
