The device can be applied to the lower rail 5 of any upper sash, and the springs 11 will retain it in operative position until it is desired to remove it, which can be done with equal facility. Having thus described my invention, I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. A window-strip comprisinga rigid base, an elastic strip secured to the inner face of the base, and yielding supports for suspending the base from the lower rail of a windowsash.

2. A window-strip comprising a rigid base, an elastic strip set in the inner face of the base, springs having their upper ends secured to the upper surface of the lower rail of the upper sash, and their lower ends to the base.

3. In a device of the class described, comprising a rigid strip, an elastic strip set in the inner face of such rigid strip and springs having their lower ends secured in the inner face of said rigid strip above said elastic strip and adapted to extend around the front face of the lower rail of the upper sash and have their upper ends secured in recesses in the top of such rail.
