TO ALL WHO IT MAY CONGERN:
Beit known that I, GEORGE H. HAWKINS, in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new und useful Improvement in Pill and other Boxes; and I do hereby declare that the following is ay full, elem', and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the eccompunying drawings, forming port of this specification.

My invention hns for its object to furnish :in improved box for containing pills and other things, which shall be simple in construction, more reliable in use, and manufactured at a. less expense than the ordinary paper boxes now in use for such purposes; and it consists in forming the boxes ofbuckram, or other woven brous material, sti'ened with starch or other glutinons matter. :und stamped in'to shape with hot metal dies,
while moist or damp.
A is the box, and B is the cover, which is mede a. little larger than the box A, so as to easily vfit upon it. The box and cover are cut out of buckram, or other woven fibrous moterial, into the proper size. The seid cloth, either before or after the boxes have been out out, is stien-ed with ordinary starch, or other suitable glutinousmaterial. The pieces are then moistened or dampened, and while in this state, are struck up int-o proper shape by means of hot metal dies of the proper size and form. The edges of the boxes are then trimmed olf, and their manufacture is completed.
I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- Forming pill or other boxes of buckram, or other woven fibrous material, stiffened with starch or other glutnous material, and struck up into proper shape while moist or damp, b.y means of hot yhetal dies, substantially as herein shown and described.
