UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HERMANN RUDOLPH WOLFF, OF GOEBENG, JAVA.
CENTRIFUGAL MACHINE.
PECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 7 12,628, dated November 4, 1902. Application filed February 11, 1902 Serial No. 93,554. (No model.)
To a wlwnt it may concern:
Be it known that I, HERMANN RUDOLPH WOLFE, a citizen of Germany, residing at Goebeng, Sourabaya, Java, have invented certain new and useful Improvementsin Centrifugal Machines, (for which application for patent has been made in Great Britain, No.
16,691, dated August 20, 1901,) of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to centrifugal machines for drying sugar; and it has for its object to provide a door at the bottom of the basket of a centrifugal which can be readily opened to discharge the contents of the hasket.
The invention is illustrated by the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a vertical section of a top-driven centrifugal machine of improved pattern; and Fig.2, a section, to a larger scale, of the improved discharge-door.
In the bottom ofthe basket f of the centrifugal, which is used for'drying sugar or other granular substance, a discharge-door 25 p, as shown particularly at Fig.2, is provided and is held in closed position over the dooropeningq by means ofsprings or spring-blades 4", extending downward and outward to engage with catches or projections s on the under side of the basket f. For opening the door 19 a hand-lever t is provided, which projects upward into the basketf and which on being tilted by hand withdraws one or more of the springs 1" out of engagement with the catches, so that the door 13 can be opened to discharge the contents of the basket f.
Having now described the invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
In a centrifugal machine, the combination with the basket of a discharge-door having spring-blades extending outward to engage catches on the outside of the basket, and a hand-lever for withdrawing one of the springs out of engagement with the catches.
In witness whereof Ihave hereunto set my hand in presence of two witnesses.
HERMANN RUDOLPH WOLFF.
