Description

IMPROVED BOTTLE-WASHER.
die gagnait referat tu ia tiges wird what ne making part nf tige same.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
.Beitknown that I, HENRY B. DAVISON, of San Francisco, county of San Francisco, Stateof California, have invented a new and improved BOttle-Washem and I do hereby declare the following description and accompanying drawings are suiicient lto enable any person skilled in the art or science to which it most nearly appertains to make and usc my said invention or improvement, without furtherinventi'on or experiment.
The object of my invention is to provide an improved apparatus for washing and cleansing bottles after i they have been emptied of their contents, the bottles being washed cleaner and much more speedily than by hand, and with much less labor. I
To effect this, I provide a box of any desirable shape, and of a size sufficient to accommodate any number of bottles. At the bottom of this box is a pipe, which is connected with the tank or source from which the water is derived, considerable pressuredieing necessary torender it effectual. A suliicicnt number of jet tubes is attached to the upper side of this pipe, and Vholes are made in the top of the box, corresponding with these tubes, into which the necks of the Ybottles are inserted, and the water turned on. 4As fast as the bottles are washed they are removed, and others take their place.
To more fully describe my invention, reference is had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part ofv this specification, of which- Figure l is a side sectional elevation.
Figure 2 a top view. v
A is a box, of any size and shape desirable, having holes, B B, in its top, which are large enough to admit the necks ofthe bottles to be washed, so that the bottle is sustained upright -byresting the body on the top of the box. A pipe, C, runs along the bottom of the box, directly beneath these openings, and having jot tubes D DV D extending upward, so that their ends enter the necks of' the bottles when in position; The .water having considerable head, is turned on, and strikes the bottom and sides of the bottle with greatpforce, thus eiiectually cleaning it,.tl1e dirty Water constantly running out and passing out through the holes in its bottom or sides. A trough may be placed in front, where the bottles to be washed can lic, and their outsides will be washed by the waste water as it runs ofi'. Six or eight bottles' will be all that can be washed at once. one being replaced by another as soon as it is cleaned. I
By this arrangement the bottles are washer cleaner, the'watcr always being fresh, and the labor of lling and shaking each bottle is done away with. From eight hundred to a thousand bottles maybe washed per Ahour by one man, and the apparatus is easily arranged for any size or kind of bottle used.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A bench or support,-provided with a series of' holes, B B, to hold the bottles, in combination with a seriesofjet pipes, D D, en :ending into the nozzles of the bottles, and conducting water to wash them, substantially as,v
described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal.
