Be it known that I, Gi C. WRIGHT, of Le Roy, in the county of Medina, and State of Ohio, have invented anew and improved Machine for Slicing and Coring Apples; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same', reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a vertical longitudinal section of my improved apple-slicing and coring machine.

This invention relates to' an im provement in the construction of a machine for slicing and corng apples, and consists in a. slicer or cutter,
having a central tubular core-cutter, with a series of radial knives set around it, to slice an apple in segments, by means of' a followorbrought dow i upon it with a lever, particularly described.
The platform A of" the machine is fastened to a. table or be is set a cutter, formed of a central circular-edged coring-knife, c c, having their cutting edgesion the upper side of the platfor form A sattached a sloping trough, B, through which is as hereinafter more nch in any suitable manner, and in the platform a, surrounded with straight-edged slicing-knives m, and opening out below it. Under the platextended the tubular cutter a. Directly'pver the cutter a is a. vertical follower, C, suspended "in a cross-frame, d d, supported by standards D D, in which it is held up by a spira-l spring, e, coiled around it. The foil ing down on a cord, g,or in any suitable manner.
n apple is placed on the cutter, with its core in a vertical position; the follower C is brought down upon it, and the circular cutter' a cuts out the core, which passes down below the trough B, while the radial knives c c slice the body of the apple into sections, which f'all upon the trough and into a basket or other receptacle.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new, und desire to secure by Letters Patent- In combination with the slicing device, the follower C, vertical spring e surrounding such follower, and the lever E, hung to the post upon the bottom A, all arranged as described, for the purpose specified. l
