My invention relates to a bolster for railway-cars, the object of my invention being to make a bolster that will combine maximum strength with minimum Weight.
My invention consists in features of novelty hereinafter fully described, and pointed out in the claims.
Figure I is a perspective view of my improved bolster. Fig. II is a vertical longitudinal section of the bolster, taken on line II II, Fig. III. Fig. III is a horizontal longitudinal section taken on line III III, Fig. II.
The bolster is open at the bottom, except at its ends, and consists of a top 1,vertical side flanges 2, a vertical middle or central flange 3, a king-bolt post 4, and spring-seats 5, all cast integral. The spring-seats join the side and central flanges together at the bottom of the bolster and at the ends thereof. On top of the bolster are a center bearing 6 and side bearings 6a.
