IMPROVED SUGAR-BVAPORATORS.

Be it known that I, LOUIS LEFEBVRE, M. D., of the city of New Orleans, parish of Orleans, and State of Louisiana, have invented a Multiple Evaporator and Triple Cylinder -for Evaporating Juice or Liquid heated by fire or steam'; and I do hereby declare the following to be an exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification, in whichy Figure l represents a topview of one evaporator.

Figure 5, a perspective view of a single evaporator.

Figure 6 only shows that theevaporators may be corrugated if desired.

Figure 7 is a perspectiveview of the evaporator as used in any number, two or more.

The nature of my invention consists in the shape and construction of the evaporators or kettles, one or more, for the purpose of evaporating juice orfliquid by direct re or steam.

A represents the half sphereor centre kettle, (as seen at fig. 1,) C the hre-chamber, d the second kettle, separated by the fire-chamber C, E the platform, incline-shaped, from which the juice or liquid passes down into 'both the kettles A/land D, communicating with each other by a pipe, G is the discharge pipe. H is intended to represent'th'e'ilue of a furnace, and I the {ire-grate.

'.lliis/kettled is more particularly intended to be heated by fire, the heat acting on both kettles, and passing daroundrby radiation (as exhibited bythe arrows) until the heat passes oil` through the flue H, thus saving time and fuel.

Fig. 2 represents two kettles, as at iig. 1 and ofthe same construction, excepting no platform E. These kettles-are intended to be heated by steam or fire, and when heated by steam, the steam passes through the pipe J into the chamber C, heating both kettles at the same time, passing all around both kettles,.not aifected by the action of the air, and having the whole heat-of the steam, thus saving the full benefit of the steam. l
