Be it known that I, SAMUEL BANKS, of Cincinnati, in the nonnty of Hamilton, anu mat of Ohio, hzuie invented a. new and improvlModegf Fixing or Lining of Paddling or Boiling-Furnaces; and I do hex-any declare that the folldwing is afull and exact description t'nre'of.
The nature of my invention consists in'inixing au'alkali or alkalies, such as lime and commonsaglt gepiy rately or combined, with the cinder of the pudling or boiling-furnace, whilst in a fluill state, or when pnlveriz'iad after-tapping from the furnace; the said mixture to be used to fix the paddling or boiling-furnace.
