I raven/Z01 *W UNITED STATES PATENT EEicE.
GUSTAV A. FLAMMIGER, OF LEIPSIC-PLAGWITZ, GERMANY.
DEVICE FOR CLEANING SHOW-WINDOWS.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Letters Patent No. 678,361, dated July 16, 1901.
Application filed August 22, 1900. Serial No. 27,713. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GUSTAV A. FLAMMIGER, a subject of the German Emperor, residing at 32 WVeissenfelserstrasse, Leipsic-Plagwitz, in the Kingdom of Saxony, Germany, have invented a certain new and useful Device for Cleaning Show-Windows, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has reference to a device for cleaning show-windows which is so constructed and arranged that the cleaning may be offected without the necessity of removing the objects which are exposed in the window, the
, device allowing of the inside of the window to be wiped clean rapidly and evenly from some place at a distance from the window.
My invention is illustrated by way of example on the accompanying drawings, which represent a preferred form of construction of my invention, Figure 1 being an elevation, and Fig. 2 an end view, with parts in section.
The device consists of the two bars a and b, which are attached *to the window-frame or at some other suitable place and which are provided on their inside, next to the surface of the window, with a coating ofleather, cloth, or the like, or any other suitable means for efiecting the wiping of the interior surface of the window. Both bars a b are pivotally connected with the link g, while their free extremities may also turn upon their points of attachment. Preferably the said bars are arranged diagonally to each other. One of the tion may be easily and evenly effected. The
length of the pin or shaft to is arranged in accordance with the depth of the show-case, the shaft being rotated from the outside by means of cranks, hand-wheels, or the like without the necessity of removing anything from the show-window in order to get at its surface.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is
In a device for cleaning and wiping windows, the combination of two bars for the support of the wiping or cleaning medium and pivotally attached to points diagonally opposite each other, of a crank-shaft of suitable length at the extremity of one of the said supporting-bars, the inner extremities of the said bars being pivoted to a connecting-link, sub stantially as described. I
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two witnesses.
GUSTAV A. FLAMMIGER.
