Be it known that I, FRANK AUSTIN MILLI- KAN, of Warren, in the county of Trumbull and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Couch-Supports; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention contemplates certain new and useful improvements in stands or supports for couches for use in sales and store rooms.

The object of the invention is to provide a support for displaying couches in a minimum space, enabling one couch to be superposed above another, so that each may be. independently moved.

The invention will be hereinafter fully set forth, and particularly pointed out in the claims.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a perspective view showing the use or application of my invention. Fig. 2 is a similar View. Fig. 3 is an enlarged view of the rest or support.

Referring to the drawings, l designates the support, which is composed of two frames 2 and 3 and a connecting-bar 4. Each frame consists of a vertical post 5, having at its top and bottom lateral arms 6 and 7, paralleling each otherand suitably braced by angle-irons S. The upper arms 6 are formed with grooves or recesses 9 to accommodate the rollers of a superposed couch. The connecting-bar 4 extends through openings in the posts 5 and serves to hold the two frames in fixed relation and yet permit of their adjustment to accommodate couches of different sizes. The upper overhanging arms 6 parallel the lower or base arms 7.

In practice the lower arms rest upon the flooigiisually beneath acouch, and the vertical posts 5 extend up at the back of the couch and in such proximity thereto that the upper arms will overhang such couch. This permits a couch to be superposed or mounted upon the rest or support, allowing each couch to be removed without interfering with the other.

I claim as my inventionum l. A rest or support fora couch construct ed to permit of its being extended above a couch to support a second or superposed couch above the first, comprising two frames, each frame having a post, a base projecting laterally therefrom at one side thereof, and an overhangiug arm extended from the same side of said post above said base upon which said second couch is designed to rest, as set forth.

2. A rest or support for a couch constructed to permit of its being extended above a couch to support a second or superposed couch above the first, comprising two frames, each frame consisting of a vertical post, and upper and lower laterallyextended arms, said. upper arms being designed to support such second couch, and a bar adjustably connecting said posts, substantially as set forth.
