IMPROVED IMPLEMENT FOR WAGONERS.
T0 ALL WHOM I'l MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, JOHN-RICHARDS, of the city of Washington, District of Columbia, have invented a Hatchet, Hammer, and Wrench, combined with an adjustable Screw-Driver and Auger and I do hereby declare the following to be an exact description thereof, reference being.V had to the accompanying drawings,
and to the letters of reference markedjthereon, making a partof this specification, in which Figure 1 represents the whole combination of the devices carried-by a Wagoner as the key-bolt of an axle or double-tree.

The nature of my invention consists in the construction and combination of` the devices, and the object is to'keep the devices or tools together, so that eith'er one may be used when required, and be portable and convenient foruse. V
A represents the hatchet, B the hammer, and C C notches of various sizes to answer as a Wrench. The handle D is 0f metal, solid with the hatchet, and provided at its end E with a screw-thread, F, and the auger or gimiet G-operatng on'the screw.v The screw-driver H fit-s on the handle against a shoulder. It is a circular plate with three projections J, two of which have screw-driver edges, and the third a small wrench..
A farmer or Wagoner may always have these tools with him in travelling, to use in case of accident, by using the handle as a bolt to his axle or double-tree K; the screw-drivel-` plate H answering the purpose of a washer, and the auger G as a nut or fastening below to prevent the hatchet from jumping out of its 'place The point E of the handle is intended to bore holes inl the harness of the horses, when necessary, and not de'aee or spoil the harness.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure `by Letters Patent, is
The improved implement for wagoners, constructed and arranged substantially as herein described and for the purposes set forth.
