JULES NICLAUSSE AND ALBERT NIOLAUSSE, OF PARIS, FRANCE.
BOILER-TUBE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent no. 658391, dated September 25, 19'00.
Application filed March 13, 1960. b'erial No. 8,438. (No model.)
To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, JULES NIOLAUSSE and ALBERT NICLAUSSE, citizens of the Republic of France, and residents of Paris, France,
have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Boiler-Tubes, of which the fol lowing is a specification.
Our invention has relation to an improvement in boiler-tubes of the type described and claimed in our Letters Patent No. 646,556, granted April 3, 1900; and in such connection it relates more particularly to the construction and arrangement of such boilertubes.
The principal object of our present invention is tosimplify the construction and arrangement of the outer or vaporizing tube, the inner or circulation pipe, the conical joints or deformations on the outer surface of the vaporizing-tube, and the connection between the outer end of the vaporizing-tube and the circulation-tube in that general type of boiler-tube as is illustrated in the patent hereinabove mentioned.
Our invention stated in general terms consists of a boiler-tube constructed and arranged in substantially the manner hereinafter described and claimed.
The nature and scope of our invention will be more fully understood from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof, in which- Figure l is a longitudinal sectional View of the outer or vaporizing tube embodying main features of our invention. Fig. 2 is a similar view of the outer and inner tubes, showing the end plug carrying said inner tube or circulation-pipe; and Fig. 3 is a verticalsectional view of a header, illustrating two tubes in place therein.
Referring to the drawings, A is the outer or vaporizing tube, having an inner cone 1) formed on its periphery by deformation or expansion of the wall of the tube. The outer end of the tube is thickened, as at a, to form the outer cone of the tube, and the interior of this thickened end is threaded to receive the screw plug or cap 0, adapted to close the outer end of said tube A. Within the tube A is located the circulation pipe or tube B,
. deforming the said wall.
which pipe or tube B is carried by the plug or cap 0 and readily removable therewith from the interior of the tube A.
The relationship of the two tubes A and B and the mode of operation is identically the same as described in our prior patent, No. 6%,556; but in the present improvement the cone at the outer end of the tube A is formed by thickening the wall of the said tube A instead of, as in the prior patent, expanding or Again, in the pres ent improvement the thickening of the wall of the tube A at its outer end permits of the interior of the tube at that point being threaded to receive the screw cap or plug 0, which carries the inner tube B. In our pre vious patent the tube B was carried by a cap screwed to the exterior surface of the tube A beyond the conical expansion. Such a construction is both cumbersome and comparatively defective, since in the expansion and contraction of the tube A the weakened or threaded portion covered by the cap is liable to break or leak. In our present construction the tube A is strengthened at just the point where not only the joint with the header 0 is made, but also where the cap or plug 0 is inserted.
Having thus described the nature and object of our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
In a boiler-tube, an outer or vaporizing tube having a portion of its wall expanded to form a conical deformation and having its outer end thickened to form a second conical deformation, the interior of said thickened end being threaded, in combination with an inner circulation -tube and a cap or plug carrying said inner tube and adapted to be screwed into the threaded thickened end of the vaporizing-tube, substantially as and for the purposes described.
In testimony whereof we have signed this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
JULES NICLAUSSE. ALBERT NIOLAUSSE.
Witnesses: EDWARD P. MACLEAN, C. DE MESTO.
