- My invention rolates to certain improvements in sound recording and reproducing machines, and has for its object to improve and simplify the construction of the recording and reproducing mechanism commonly known as the sound-box, as'more fully set for-eh hereinafter.

These rings should be of less thickness than the distance between the respective adjacent feces of the inclosing casing and the respective feces of the diaphragm when in its normal position. It is clear that the construction should be such, as for as the relation of the gaskets and thedinphrngm is concerned, that the gaskets shall not interfere with the free vibratory movement of the diaphragm approximately evenly throughout its, entire area, though thedegrecofproximity may vary within these limitations.
