Description

No. 655,290. Patented Aug. 7, I900;
A. WOHLGEMUTH.
CONSTRUCTION OF WALLS AND CEILINGS.
(Application filed July 12, 1899.)
(No Model.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ANTON WOHLGEMUTH, or MUNICH, GERMANY.
QONSTRUCTION OF WALLS AND CEILINGS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 655,290, dated August '7, 1900.
Application filed July 12, 1899. Serial No. 723,641. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ANTON WOHLGEMUTH, a subject of the King of Bavaria, residing at Munich, in the Kingdom of Bavaria, German Empire, have invented a new and useful Improvement in the Construction of lValls and Ceilings, of which the following is a specification.
The subject of the present invention is a network of spiral wires for use in the construction of walls and ceilings, the particular feature of the arrangement being the eX tremely-simple manner of joining the individual spirals.
On the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a diagrammatic View illustrating the general appearance of the new network. Fig. 2 is a full size view showing in detail the manner of connecting the spirals.
The network comprises a number of parallel wire spirals a. These wires a are at their ends and along their lengths, at suitable distances apart, wound round to form rings 1), which may be composed of any desired number of turns. These rings 1) are connected, each with its adjacent ring in the next wire, by means of loose rings 0, so that in this mannerakind of chain is formed. Since the links I) of such a chain are formed directly from the wires a, the latter are kept always at the correct regular distance apart, so that the .whole network is uniform. If it is desired to impart additional rigidity to the spirals, strengthening-wires (Z (see Fig. 1) may be inserted between the chains 1) c, formed as above stated.
The network formed as above is fixed to the boardings in any suitable manner and is then plastered over. The plaster enters the rings 6 c, which retain it, whereby on drying an extremely firm and durable ceiling or wall is formed.
Having now fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A wire network for use in the construction of walls and ceilings, comprising a series of wire spirals a lying parallel to one another, which at their ends and at suitable distances apart along their lengths are wound round to form loops or rings 1) of any desired number of turns, said rings in any one wire spiral being connected to the corresponding rings in the adjacent parallel wire spiral byloose links or rings a, all substantially as and for the 5 purposes hereinbefore set forth.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two Witnesses.
ANTON WOHLGEMUTH. Witnesses:
