Description
No. 643,817. Patented Feb. 20, I900. H. GMElNER-BENNDORF.
APPARATUS FOR FLINT'GLAZING COLORED PAPER.
(Application filed Oct, 19, 1898.!
(No Model.) I
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HERRMANN GMEINER-BENNDORF, OF DRESDEN, GERMANY.
APPARATUS FOR FLINT-GLAZING COLORED PAPER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 643,817, dated February 20, 1900.
Application filed October 19 1898- To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HERRMANN GMEINER- BENNDORF, a subject of the King of Saxony, and a resident of Dresden, in the Kingdom of Saxony, in the German Empire, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Apparatus for Flint- Glazing Colored Paper, of which the following is a specification.
This improvement relates to flint-glazing,
which is performed by the friction upon the paper of flints or other stones. The invention consists in a holder of the novel construction hereinafter described and claimed, wherein a plurality of fiints or other suitable stones are held firmly in proper relation to each other for operation simultaneously on the paper to be glazed.
Figures 1 and 2 in the accompanying drawings are side views, taken at right angles to each other, of a glazingtool comprising a holder with two stones embodying my invention.
The holder consists of a stock a a, two clamping-jaws b b, separately attached to said stock; by pivots d d on opposite sides thereof, two eyebolts c c, pivoted to the said stock by a pivot g and passing through the said jaws,
$erial No. 693,968. (No model.)
and nuts 6 e, fitted to screw-threads on said bolts. The shank a of the stock is adapted to be received in the carrier provided for it in any glazing-machine, and it is prolonged or extended between the jaws b b, as shown in Fig. 1, to form a central abutment a, between which and the jaws the stones f f are separately clamped by screwing up the nuts e e.
What I claim as my invention is The holder for a plurality of stones for glazing paper consisting of a stock having an abutment, clamping-jawsseparately pivoted to said stock on opposite sides of said abutment, bolts attached to said stock and pro jecting through said jaws, and nuts applied to said bolts for separately clamping stones on opposite sides of said abutment, substantially as herein described.
. In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name, in presence of two witnesses, this 5th day of October, 1898.
HERRMAKN GMEINER-BENNDORF.
