This invention relates to new und improved devices attached to wagons for loading hay or fodder in the field or barn, und consists in tho combination of n. crane and single-pulley rope with u. pitch-fork and a sliding tongue, in connection with n brake on the .fore wheels, in; such manner that by the sliding of the tongue when it is tripped the horses hoist the fork 'with -the hay, und ut the sume time chock the wagon by the action of the brake', the whole draught being very ligh't, und the operation convenient, n

Having described ny-invention, I do not claim operating o. Vlmy fork by means vot' a. rope connected to, the sliding tonguens described in the potentrof A. McClure., August 28, 1'866,.but what I claim is- The arrangement 'of the sheuvc in the sliding tongue, and .movingtherewith the rope passing over the said shenve und connected ut its respective ends to'the fork undto the brake-bnr on the tongue hounds.
