Be it known that I, OURRAN 0. WEEKS, a citizen of the United States of America, residin gat Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Belts, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to certain improvements in belts, designed to provide means for so attaching said belts to the waistband of a skirt or other article of wearing-apparel that the one may be supported by the other and the two kept in the proper relative positions.

To such end the invention consists in certain novel characteristics possessed by'the preferred construction herein described, said characteristics being pointed out in the appended claims.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is a view of the belt, showing the same in position upon a skirt and the rear portion of the belt cut away to reveal certain fastening devices .upon the skirt-band. Fig. 2 is a perspective from the front of the belt alone, and Fig. 3 is a flap is turned downward, the'studs upon it forced into the sockets, and the belt then turned down over the flap, concealing it from View and distributing the pull of the skirt along a considerable portion of the belt.

The construction herein described can be varied from greatly without departing from the principle of the invention, and I therefore do not limit myself to the exact details of the same. I

I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. The combination with a belt and waistband, of aflap, O, secured alongits upperedge to the inside of said belt and capable of being swung away from said belt on the line of union therewith, a series of fasteners upon said flap and a series of coacting fasteners upon the Waistband adapted to engage there with; substantially as described.

2. The combination with a comparatively rigid belt, of a flexible flap secured along its upper edge to the inside of said belt, a series of spring-studs secured upon said flap and a series of coacting spring-sockets adapted to be secured to the waistband of a skirt and to engage said studs; substantially as described.
