- All these ngredients are digested with the alcohol, and the whole mixture is thinned with water to such an extent that from the above quantity five quarts of the mixture are obtained. For each quart one and one-half ounce of sugar is added, and the mixture is colored with suitable sugar'color. It is then put up in bottles of suitable size, and it is ready for use. It can be taken in doses to suit the patient. Generally one table-spoonful taken three times a. day is suifieient to give relief, and finally to cure piles in their worst form.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, H. ZOEGER, of No. 116 Allen street, in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and improved Remedy for Piles, etc.; andI do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the same.
This invention relates to a compound which has proved of immense value for the purpose of relieving and curing piles and other diseases of a similar nature, or springing from the same cause.
The compound is made of alcohol, rhubarb, gcntian, blessed thistle, centaury minor, aloe, ginger, angelica, elecampane, and licorice, and these ingredients are mixed together in about the following proportion: alcohol, sixty-eight ouneesyrhubarb, (Radix when) one-half ounce; gentian, gentiam) one-half ounce; blessed thistle, (Jim-Zia carclm' benedict,) two ounces; centaury minor, (Herbal centaurz' mz'nmy) two ounces; aloe, one-half ounce; ginger, (Radix zingiberz's,) one and onc-half ounce; angelica, one ounce; elecampane, (Radix imtla,) one ounce; licorice, two ounces.
