SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 610,249, dated September 6, 1898. Application filed April 13, 189'7. Serial No. 632,047.. (No modell) Patented in England October 16, 1896, No. 22,958.
' To @ZZ whom t may concern:
. ing is a specification.
My invention relates to an improved tobacco-pipe rack in which any suitable number of tobacco-pipe holders are pivoted to a bracket in such a manner that the tobaccopipe holders may be folded together; and the object of my improvement is to provide a to baceo -pipe rack that may be placed in a waistcoat-poeket or carried about with equal facility. I attain this object bythe mechanis1n illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which-` Figure l shows five tobacco-pipe holders (marked A) opened out, and Fig. 2 shows them closed.
Similar letters refer to vsi milar parts throughout both views.
The tobacco-pipe holders (marked A) are pivoted by pivot C to bracket B. The holes (marked D) in the bracket are for the reception of nails and the like. The tobacoo-pipe holders when opened out, as in Fig. l, form a rest for the greatest number of tobaccopipes; but when the holders are folded together, as in Fig. 2, they are seen one above the other, thus forminga rest for the least number of tobacco-pipes.
This tobacco-pipe rack may be made of any suitable material and the shape may be varied,if desired. The holes (marked D) inthe bracket are shown round. These holes mayA A) show one hole in each for the support of tobacco-pipes; but any convenient number of holes may be arranged. These holders may taper, be beveled, or so made to insure an easy'motion and to avoid clashing. The pivot C may be solid or hollow, as desired.
I am aware that prior to my invention tobacoo-pipe racks have been made with fixed holders for the support of tobacco-pipes- I therefore do not claim such a rack broadly; but
. What I do claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A tobacco-pipe rack having a number of perforated tobacco pipe holders mounted upon a common pivot so as to be folded together.
