Description

(No Model.) A
A. HOBNIG. INSUPFLATOR.
N0.'602,010. Patented Apr. 5, 1898.
UNTED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ALEXANDER HOENIG, OF BERLIN, GERMANY.
INSUFFLATOR.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N o. 602,010, dated April 5, 1898.
Application le. June 12, 1897. Serial No. 640,557. (No inodel.)
the bodies of men or animals and for dispersing said substances Within those cavities; and my invention consists in certain combinations and arrangements of parts, as are fully described hereinafter.
ing in side view. Fig. 2 shows the upper end of the pipe b, together with the unscrewed head d, the latter being in section; andFig.
3 is a separate view of the open half of the ball a, the tube-like projection e being in section.
My improved device consists of an indiarubber ball a, having'a tube-like projection e. The bore of the latter is conical-z'. 6widens in the direction from the ball to the open endand serves for the reception of the shovel or spoon like end c of the pipe b. This end c is correspondingly shaped, and by thus shaping the parts c and e I am enabled to connect them firmly and tightly in a most simple way.
The shovel or spoon c serves, of course, for introducing the pulverized substance. y The pipe b has at its other end athreaded part h, upon which may be screwed the mushroomlike headd. The latter takes freely over the end of the pipe h or over a number of holes f, provided in said end respectively, and by thus preventing the holes f from coming in contact with the surface or 'wall of the respective cavity they are at the same time prevented against being obstructed or stopped. The channel or bore proper of the pipe b is not closed by the head d, but the threaded part h of the pipe takes completely into and through the threaded hole of the head. (See Fig. l.)
The device is especially intended for the distribution of antiseptic or hygienic means, provided the latter be of a pulverulent condition. v
Having now described my invention, what I desire tol secure by Letters Patent of the United States isl. As a means for introducing pulverulent substances into cavities of the bodies of men or animals, and distributing or dispersing them within said cavities the combination with a compressible ball and a pipe extending from the same, of a mushroom-like head secured to the free end ,of said pipe without closing the bore of the same, and having in its rear part a space opening to the rear side of the head, and surpassing in diameter the diameter of the pipe; the part of the latter located within said space having holes putting the bore of the pipe in communication with the said space, as set forth.
2. As a means for introducing pulverulent substances into cavities ofthe bodies of men or animals, and distributing or dispersing them Within said cavities, the combination with a compressible ball having a tube-like extension With a bore Widening from its inner end to its outer one, and with av pipe having a shovel-like end piece ofv conical shape adapted to take into, and be connected with, said tube-like extension of the ball, of a mushroom-like head secured to the free end of said pipe, and having in its rear part a space opening to the rearfside of the head and surpassing in diameter the diameter of the pipe; the part of the latter located Within said space having holes putting the bore of the pipe in communication with the said space, as set forth.
In testimony whereof I have signed .my I
name to this speciiication in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
ALEXANDER HOENIG.
