To all whom, t may concern,.-
Be it known that L EDWIN LUNN MILLER,
a citizen of the United States, residing at South Bethlehem, in the county of NorthanIp-- 'provide a simple, compact, durable, and effective holder or envelop for money of different denominations having an interior pocket, two folding flaps, and flexible means for maintaining the flaps in a closed position upon the pocket, the interior of the liaps and exterior of the pocket being preferably provided with an account-record, whereby the amounts deposited in the pocket from time to time may be accurately recorded and the sum total at the end of` a period readily arrived at therefrom, the said pocket or holder being especially adapted for church offerings or contributions, which are usually made on a certain day or days in each week during the year.
My invention, stated in general terms, consists of a folding money hdolder'or envelop when constructed and arranged in substantially the manner hereinafter described and claimed. A p
The nature, scope, and general characteristic features of Vmy invention will be more fully understood from the following description, taken in connection with theaccompanying drawings, forming part hereof,`in which- Figure 1 is a top or v-plan view of a blank, showing in detail theconstruotion and arrangement of the pocket and the folding fiaps embodying features of my invention; Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the holder with the flaps upon the pocket and with the flexible securing means shown-in lapplication to t-he closed naps. Fig. 3 is atop or plan view of the interior of the holder, showingv the flaps in extended position and unfolded from the pocket; and Fig. 4 is a perspective view vand upward and secured to the body d-for example, as illustrated in Fig. l-and thereby to form a pocket B for the reception of money of different denominations.
c is a clip extending through the body a,
forming on the outside or face of the body d y a staple adapted to receive a flexible band c', which, when passed around the folding iaps d and a2, locks the same against the pocket B When the device of my invention has been caused to assume the closed condition illustrated in Fig. 2, and thereby prevents the money deposited in the pocket B from being removed until the flaps are caused to assume the position illustrated in either Fig. 3 or Fig. Il.
On the inner side D of the flaps and pocket is preferably provided an account-record d, consisting of vertical and horizontal lines forming spaces of different dimensions-for example, as illustrated in Fig. 3-and divided off by suitable designations to represent months in a year and certain periods or days in each month, in order to enable an accurate record to be kept thereon of the contribution or amount deposited in the pocket from time to time by the party to whom the envelop belongs. f
The bottom portion d of the inner side of the holder or envelop is adapted to receive suitable lettering to define ,for what purpose the deposits in the pocket B have been made from time to time and for what different objects, andn also a place'or space is left for the signature of a secretary or recorder of the amount so deposited as contribution or for other purposes. v
The upper portion of the inner side of the holder d2 is left blank for suitable designations thereon to define the purpose for which the holder or envelop'is especially adapted.
On the face or outer side of the holder Yor envelop may be provided suitable printed Having thus described the nature and objects of my invention, what I elaini as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

2. A money holder or envelop, consisting of two end folding aps, an intermediate por- Jfion integral with and joining the end flaps, a strip formed integral with one side of the intermediate portion and united to the other side and to the bottoni edge of said intermediate portion to form a pocket upon which the end flaps are adapted to fold, and a exible band united to the intermediate portion and adapted to be passed around the flaps to lock the saine upon the pocket, substantially as and for the purposes described.
3. A blank for a money holder or envelop consisting ot' an intermediate reetangu lar por tion, two end folding flaps formed integral therewith, and an oblong strip formed integral with one side of the intermediate portion, said oblon g strip having tapering iiaps adapted to secure the strip to the intermediate portion to forni an internal pocket upon which the end flaps are adapted to fold, substantially as and for the purposes described.
