sAMUELw. BOONE, or FLINT, MICHIGAN, ASSIGNOR To DAVID TRAXLER.
OVERALLS.
, SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Iatent No. 579,314, dated March 23, 1897.
Application filed April 17, 1896.
To all whom-it may concern:
Be it known that I, SAMUEL W. BOONE, of Flint, in the county of Genesee and State of Michigan, have invented an Improved Overalls, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to overalls as articles In the drawings forming a part of this application, Figure 1 shows the invention in use as abib. Fig. 2 shows the device as an apron. Fig. 3 is a detail view showing thedevice as a bib. Fig. 4 is a detail view showing the device as an apron.
Referring to the drawings, P represents the usual overalls, and A and B the combined apron and bib or flap, A indicating the apron side, and B the bib side. The apron has a pocket stitched thereon. The said combination part or flap is permanently attached to the belt or band C, by means of which it is detachably secured to the waistband of overallsby a series of fasteners c, situated at the front of said waistband, and a series of complemental fasteners c, situated upon the said flap. The combination apron and bib or flap is stitched to the said belt or band on the line D between the top and bottom edges of belt folded down to make the apron or up to make the bib.
Serial No. 587,914. on model.)
Suspenders S are attached to the overalls and to the buttons 8 von the bib when used as such, and buttons 8 on belt 0 when the device is turned down as an apron. It will thus be seen that I provide a reversible combination apron and bib which can be changed from one to the other without detaching from the overalls.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
As articles of manufacture, overalls provided with a waistband carrying a series of fasteners at the front thereof, and a flap having a band carrying a series of complemental fasteners to detachably engage the fasteners on the said waistband, the flap having on its inner face a pocket and being flexibly secured to its band so as to be folded up to form a bib or down to form an apron, and suspenders secured to the rear of the overalls, and suitable means on the upper end of the flap and on the waistband of the overalls with which the suspenders are adapted to engage, substantially as set forth..
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in the presence of two witnesses. SAMUEL \V. BOONE.
