Be it known that I, DANIEL TERRY, of Wakeman, in the county of Huron and State ot' Ohio, ha-ve invented a new' and useful Iniproveinentin Portable Fences; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction ot' the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, made .part of this specification.
The object ot' my invention is to provide a cheap portable fence, made of a frame strong enough to form a protection against the larger animals, over which wires are stretched in such a manner as to prevent the passage ot' smaller animals, and so arranged that the fence cannot be scaled by wolves or dogs.
A A are the posts, resting upon or inserted in the ground. These posts are framed together by the crosspieces B B. In the middle ot' the panels is inserted the tie C, placed between the crosspieces B B. The frame may be strengthened by braces C. i
D D are the foot-pieces, attached on alternate sides by pins E E, which extend through the posts and foot-pieces of the adjoining panels. Y
The wires F are stretched at suitable inter vals from post to post, and are stayed by eyes in the tie C. The wires should be continued to the top of the fence-posts and above the upper cross-piece, B, as shown in the drawing.
Having fully explained the mode of constructin g my improved fence, what I claim as my invention, and seek to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A fence constructed with a frame, A B C, sustaining the wires F, having the posts A, inserted in the ground or supported upon footpieces D, and attached to one another by pins E, the said several parts being, respectively, constructed, and the whole arranged for use, substantially as set forth.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification, in the presence of two subseribin g witnesses.
