The nature of my invention consists in an extension of the mouth-piece of a snafde-bit, on the outer ends having an aperture and grooved roller for a round rein to work in, for the purpose of drawing the bit upward against the top of the mouth of the horse, and prevent his holding the bit between his teeth, at the same time easy on the horses mouth, yet enabling the rider to manage and control him 7 with the greatest of ease.
A represents the mouth-piece of a snafdei bit; B, the rings to which the headstall and the riding-reins are attached. D are the eX- tended ends, having a slot with a grooved roller, E, and an aperture, J, through which a round rein operates, the one end of the round rein being attached to the cheek part of the headstall, then passed through the aparture J and the other end held in the riders hand,i or to rest on the horses neck, to be used only when necessary to check the horse, the rein operating against the roller E.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
'Ihe extended ends D, constructed with grooved rollers E and round aperture J, as herein described, and for the purposes set forth.
