To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, CHARLES CLEMENT LA.

RIvIERE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Fort Adams, in the county of Newport and State of Rhode Island, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Supports for Cuspidors or Waste-Baskets,

' of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.

This invention relates to supports or holders I for cuspidors, waste-baskets, and other and similar articles; and the object thereof is to provide a device of this class which is simple in construction and operation and comparatively inexpensive.

The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawings form a part, in which Figure 1 is a side View of a cuspidor sup- .ported by my improved holder; Fig. 2, a plan downwardly, and the wire 0 is also provided centrally thereof with a corresponding notch or recess E, formed in the same manner, and the ends of each of the wires are bent downwardly to form loops F and then inwardly and upwardly, as shown at G, and it will be observed that the notches D are arranged in a circle, and secured therein in any desired manner is a ring H, and the upwardly=directed portions G of the wires or rods are provided with loops or rings K, and the operation will be readily understood from the foregoing description, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings. The cuspidor or other article to be held or supported is placed Within the frame or holder, as shown in Fig. 1, in which position the bottom thereof rests upon the transverse portions of the rods B and O, and the ends G press upon the sides thereof and securely hold the same in place. It will also be understood that a wastebasket or other article may be similarly supported, and it will thus be seen that I provide an effective holder or support of the class herein described, and one which is comparatively inexpensive and which may be ornamented to any desired extent.

My invention is not limited to the exact form and arrangement of the wires or rods of which'my improved holder or support is constructed, and I therefore reserve the right to make all such alterations in and modifications of the construction herein described as fairly come'within the scope of the invention.

Having fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent A support or holder for cuspidors and similar articles, consisting of two separate wires B and 0, provided at predetermined points with notches D, the wire 0 being provided centrally thereof with a corresponding notch E, the ends of said wire being bent downwardly to form loops F, then inwardly and upwardly, said notches being arranged in acircle and a ring H secured in said notches, the upwardly-directed portions of the wires being provided with loops or rings K, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
