A oord passes around this Windlase up the outside of piece H, then around e pulley, o, in its upper end, thence down e groove on its inner side, and secures to thelnwer end of the piece G. By this cord lund. windluss the piece G is easily raised und lowered or stationed in :my desired position. The upper end oi' piece G rests in an opening; mede to receive it et vthe intersection of the nrni E with the timber D, passing to said opening between the two braces F F.

In using` this scaffold. the brace H is placed nt e bracingl :ingle tothe house, find the breekets with the seniiold board upon then-'i are raised end-lowered, orstutioned where required, by menus of the u'indless with its' powi und ratchet-wheel.

The brackets with their rollers eusiiy run up and down the sides of the house without defncing it.
