To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, LINCOLN HAUSMANN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Buitalo, Erie county, New York, have invented an Improved Box for Stamps, Plaster, &c., of which the following is a specification.

The object of my invention is to provide a simple and convenient construction of box for holding postage-stamps, court-plaster, pins, matches, &c., and adapted to be carried in the pocket.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the box with the sliding lid detached and showing the under side of the latter. Fig. 2 is a perspective view showing a feature of my invention. Figs. 3 and at are views of a modification, and Figs. 5 and 6 are views of another modification.

The box is preferably formed of sheet metal in two pieces, one, A, constituting the main body of the box, while the other, B, is a sliding lid.

The body A is stamped up to provide a suitable number of pockets or recesses a a o of size and shape convenient for the reception of the diiterent articles to be carried in the box. In the drawings Ihave shown the box as provided with three pockets or divisions, one, a, being for pieces of court-plaster, another, a, for postage-stamps, and another, o for pins or matches. I do not wish to restrict myself to any special number or arrangement of these pockets, but I so group or arrange them as to leave only narrow ribs or walls d between the pockets, these also being formed by the stamping up of the metal.

To conveniently hold the pieces of plaster, I provide a spring clip or clips at one edge or These clips may be cut out of the metal, as shown at ein Fig. 2 or at e in Fig. 1, (to hold the stamps in the stamp-pocket,) or may be made out of a separate strip of metal, as shown at 6 Fig. 4,

The pieces of plaster 19 have rows of perforations 19', Fig. 1, or slits 19 Fig. 5, cut in them in various ways in order that differentsized pieces may be easily pulled cit without the use of scissors.

The spring-clips e or 6 may also be provided at one end of the stamp-pocl et, Fig. 1, to hold the stamps in place.

The lid B is a sliding lid, which is held to the body of the box by flanged fingers passing through slots 5 along the flanged sides or ends of the box. These fingers may be punched and flanged up out of the body of the lid, as at b, Fig. 1, or may be formed out of eyelets b, secured to one part (say the lid) and passing through the slots .9 in the other part, as shown in Figs. 5 and 6. These latter figures illustrate the lid as drawn back to expose one half of the box. By moving it over in the other direction the other half of the box can be exposed.

I claim as my invention 1. A box for stamps, plaster, &c., having pockets for the articles, and slotted flanges with a sliding lid having flanged projections passing through said slots, substantially as described.

2. Abox havingapocket for pieces of courtplaster, the latter being divided by lines of perforations or slits, substantially as and for the purpose described.
