My invention relates to an improved blackboard-eraser; and it consists in certain details ot' construction and combi nation of parts, as will be fully set forth hereinafter.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a perspective sectional view of my improved blackboard-eraser, which is constructed and arranged in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is an inverted plan view of the rubber or eraser, showing portions of the same broken away in order to show the construction of the same.
To put my invention into practice, I provide a block of Wood or other suitable material l 01E a suitable size and form of construction, and form in the under side two grooves Serial No. 542,008. (No model.)
2 for the reception of the chalk-dust, and also form an opening 3 at one end for the removal of the same, and iit the said opening with a plug or stopper 4. Arranged over these dustchambers 2 is a perforated metallic plate 5, having a number of minuteopenings 7, and cover the said plate with a sott felt eraser G. This eraser or covering 6 is formed from a porous or loosely-Woven felt-cloth, which will permit the dustto pass through the same into the chambers 2, from4 which it may be removed at intervals by withdrawing the plug 4.
Having thus described my invention, What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
