GAME APPARATUS.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 556,246, dated March 10, 1896.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, J OB W. BLACKHAM, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Game Apparatus, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

The object of the invention is to provide a new and improved game apparatus requiring considerable skill to successfully play the game and arranged to afford considerable amusement to the player.

The invention consists of certain parts and details and combinations of the same, as will be fully described hereinafter and then pointed out in the claims.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate'corresponding parts in both the figures.

Figure lis a perspective View of the improvement, and Fig. 2 is a sectional side elevation of the same.

The improved game apparatus is provided with an open-topped receptacle A, in the bottom B of which are secured a series of upwardly-extending pegs or holders C, preferably numbered consecutively, as illustrated in Fig. l, the numerals being placed alongside the pegs on a suitable disk D, placed on the bottom of the receptacle A. Rings F. or like articles are adapted to pass upon the pegs, said rings being passed through a chute or open slide F, held by the operator, and provided at its lower end with an angularly-dis posed delivery-spout G, it being understood that the ring E is introduced at the upper end of the chute F, and the latter is held in such an inclined position that the ring readily slides down the chute, to finally drop through the spout G onto the peg beneath. Now if the operator holds the chute F in the proper position the ringE will drop upon one of the pegs; otherwise the ring will drop alongside of the peg in the receptacle A.

In order to successfully play the game, it is necessary for the operator to hold the chute in such a position that the rings are delivered onto the pegs and not alongside thereof.

The lower end of the chute F is connected by a chain H, or like iiexible device, with a post I secured on one side of the receptacle A by a set-screwJ, said chain H permitting of moving the delivery=spout G over any one of the pegs, but a suitable distance above the same, to permit the player to drop a ring on the corresponding peg.

Having thus fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patentda 1. A game apparatus, comprising a series of fixed pegs adapted to receive a suitable article, and a chute movable over the pegs to bring its discharge end above anyone of the pegs and deliver said articles upon any of the said pegs, substantially as shown and described.

2. A game apparatus, comprising a seriesv of pegs, a chute for delivering a suitable article on one of said pegs, and an angularly-disposed delivery-spout on the lower end of the said chute movable bodily over the pegs to bring its discharge end directly above any one of said pegs, substantially as shown and described.

3. A game apparatus, comprising a series of pegs, a chute for'delivering a suitable article upon one of the said pegs, a post and a iieXible connection between the post and chute, substantially as shown and described.

4. A game apparatus, comprising a casing, a series of numbered pegs extending in the said casing, a chute having an angularly-disposed delivery-spout and arranged for delivering a suitable article onto one of the said pegs, and a iieXible connection for the said chute whereby it may swing relatively to the pegs, substantially as shown and described.

5. A game apparatus, comprising a base or board having a series of holders and a chute adapted to receive suitable articles and to discharge them onto the holders, said chute being movable to bring its `discharge end over any one of the holders, substantially as described.

6. A game apparatus, comprising a base or board having a series of holders, a chain or link secured above the base, and a chute suspended at the end of said chain, the chute being adapted to receive suitable articles and to discharge them onto the holders, substantially as described.
