UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES VVALLER,
OF NE\V YORK, N. Y.
DE NTAL FLASK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 550,209, dated November 19, 1895.
Application filed August 29, 1895.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES WA LER, a subject of the King of Sweden, and a resident of New York city, in the State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Dental Flasks, of which the following is a specification.
My invention consists of an improved construction of dental flasks, as hereinafter described, reference being made to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved flask. complete. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the lower part of the flask. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the upper part, and Fig. 4 is a perspective View of the cover.
Thelower part of the flask consists of the sides a and bottom I), which may be of usual construction. To each side a I affix in any approved way a pair of ears 0, perforated at d, said ears preferably being at the top flush with the top of the sides.
The upper part of the flask consists of a frame having sides 6 corresponding with the sides of the lower part a, to each of which sides I apply a dowel-stud f, adapted to fit in the spaces between the ears, respectively, and gagethe two parts of the flask for registering properly, said studs being perforated at g, so as to coincide with holes (Z of the ears 0 when the two parts a and c are connected, and whereby said parts may be secured by pins h, inserted through the holes of the ears and the studs.
At the middle or thereabout of the top of one side of the upper part c of the flask and upon the inside is an inwardly-projecting spur 2 the end of which slopes under the topv Serial No. 560,875. (No model.)
'Which has the greatest projection. At the opposite side of the top of the upper part c is a dowel-stud j, having a perforation 7c. The cover of the upper part consists of the flat plate Z, having on its under side the spur m, whereof the end it is suitably beveled to hook under the corresponding bevel end of spur 11 of the upper part of the flask, and at the opposite extremity of the cover is a slot 0, adapted to engage the spur j when the cover is placed in'position to secure the cover by a pin 19, inserted through the spur j over the cover.
Thus I provide a dental flask contrived for very accurately registering the parts when placed together and for"securing them by very simple and effective means.
I claim- The improved dental flask consisting of the lower part ab, having a pair of perforated ears 0, on each side; the upper part c, having the perforated dowel spurs f on each side adapted to engage the ears and be secured by pins h, also having the inwardly projecting cover securing spur '1; and the opposite perforated upwardly projecting dowel spur j; and the cover plate Z, having the spur m, adapted to engage spur i for securing the cover, and the slot 0, for engaging the dowel spur j and being secured by a pin 19 substantially as described.
Signed at New York city, in the county and State of New York, this 28th day of August,
CHARLES WALLER. Witnesses:
W. J. MORGAN, A. P. THAYER.
