Be it known that I, JAMES S. LARZELERE, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Game-Indicators, which improvement is fully set forth in the follow ing specification and accompanying drawings.

My invention consists of a game indicator or bulletin wherein the progress or condition and other matter of a game-such as foot-ball, base-ball, &c`.may be readily announced to observers on opposite sides of the indicator, as will be hereinafter specified, and pointed out in the claims.

Figure l represents a face View of a gameindicator embodying my invention. Fig. 2 represents a section thereof on line Fig. 3 represents a section of a modification. Fig. 4 represents a face view of a portion of another modification of the invention. Fig. 5 represents a section thereof on line y y, Fig. 4. Fig. 6 represents a face View of another modification. Fig. 7 represents a section thereof on line z a', Fig. 6. Fig. 8 represents a section of a portion of another modiftcation.

Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several figures.

Referring to the drawings, A designates a board formed of wood or other suitable material and having therein the longitudinallyextending slots B B.

C designates indices, which in the present case are of the form of half-sections of aball, the same being on opposite sides of the board A and connected bythe neck D, which freely enters the slot B.

E designates indices, Which are of the forni of fingers or pointers, the same being on opposite sides of the board A and connected by the neck F, which freely enters the slot B.

On the faces of the board are marked the characteristics of the play of a game of football, the same being in two lines, as at G and H, both well known to those familiar with the game, it being noticed that theindices C point to the line G and the indices E to the line Il; but I do not limit the use of my invention to foot-ball indications, as the matter on the board may be changed to suit other games.

J designates a tablet which freely occupies the opening K in the board and is mounted therein by means of the journals L, which project from the tablet and enter the board, or vice versa.

M designates a swinging tablet which depends from the board A, so that the faces of the same may be seen from opposite sides of the board.

The tablet .I has its faces visible from opposite sides of the board and is adapted to have attached to it a piece of material with the name of the club at the ball thereon, or said name may be marked directly on the tablet, While the tablet Mis designed to have attached to it a card or piece of material with the names of the clubs to play or playing thereon, or said names may be marked directly on the tablet. It will be noticed that the indicesmay be moved to the right or left as the game progresses, thus indicating toV the observers on both sides of the board the state of the game as regards each club.

In Fig. 3 I show the index N within the slot P, so as to be visible from both sides of the board, said index having projecting from top and bottom the tongues Q, which enter the grooves R in the walls of said slot for retainingthe index in position and guiding the same in its movements.

In Fig. 4 the neck of the sectional indices C and of the indices E have connected with them the rods or bars T', whereby said indices may be moved or shifted from the building Where the device is set out.

In Figs. 6 and 7 I show sectional indices C, connected by saddles U in lieu of the necks, which saddles freely embrace the exterior of the board at the top and bottom thereof and are provided with dovetailed or other tongues V, which freely enter grooves in the board in lieu of the slots B B', thus retaining the indices in position and guiding them in their motions, said saddles having attached to them the bars V', whereby the indices may be shifted or moved to the right or left from the building where the device is set ont.

In Fig. 8 I show sectional indices on opposite sides of the board, mounted on rods W, which are secured to the board, the indices being movable on said rods.

Having thus described my invention, what IOO I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is- Y 1. A game indicator consisting ot' a board with the lines ofgame characteristics G and H on opposite sides thereof, the sliding indices on opposite sides of said board, pointing to said lines, slots in said board along said lines G and I-l, and necks connecting said indices, said parts being combined substantially as described.

2. A game indicator consisting of a board with the lines of gaine characteristics G and H, on opposite sides thereof, the sliding indices on opposite sides of said board, pointing to said lines, necks connecting said indices, and operating mechanism attached to said necks, said parts being combined substantially as described.

3. A game indicator consisting of a board with the lines of game characteristics on opposite sides thereof, the sliding indices on opposite sides ofthe board pointing to said lines, necks connecting said indices and guiding tongues on said necks, said parts being cornbined substantially as described.

1. A game indicator consisting ot' a board with lines of gaine characteristics on opposite sides, indices pointing toward said lines, devlces for connecting said indices, and operating means connected with said devices, said parts being combined substantially as described.
