Be it known that I, ALFRED T. LAINSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Aurora, in the county of Hamilton and State of Nebraska, have invented a new and useful MopWVringer, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to mop wringers; and it has for its object to provide a new and useful device of this character that can be readily applied to ordinary pails and tubs to provide for conveniently and thoroughly wringing out a mop.
To this end therefore the main and primary object of the present invention is to provide a new and useful mop wringer that can be readily opened and closed in manipulating the same, while at the sam'e time providinga construction of wringer in the use of which the pail or tub is not liable to tip over.
With these and other objectsin view which will readily appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more' fully described, illustrated and claimed.

Referring to the accompanying drawings, 1-2 designate opposite parallel bearing arms that are connected together by the intermediate cross bar 3, the ends of which are securely bolted or otherwise suitably secured to the said bearing arms for the purpose of rigidly connecting the same together and holding the arms in their proper relative positions. The opposite parallel connected bearin g arms 1 and 2, are adapted to extend inwardly and horizontally over the upper edge of a pail or tub, and both lof said arms are provided at one end with the integral depending attaching straps 4, that are adapted to be secured to the outside of the pail or bucket X, by means of the screws 5, or other suitable fastening means.
The opposite connected parallel bearing arms 1 and 2, receive the spindle extremities 6, of the xed roller 7, that is supported for a fixed rotation between the said opposite bearing arms, and one of said bearing arms,
designated as 2, is adapted to have pivotally clamped on the inner end thereof by means of the vertical pivot bolt 8, the pivot or joint block 9, to which is hinged by a hinge joint 10, one end of a swinging bearing plate 11, that is arranged parallel to an opposite catch bearing plate 12, and the said bearing plates 11 and 12, loosely support therebetween the wringer roller 13, that is operated in conjunction with the roller 7, to provide for the wringing out ofv a mop. The inner ends of the bearing plates 11 and l2 are adapted to abut against the inner ends of the bearing arms 1 and 2, and from the outer ends of the plates -11 and 12 are projected the horizontal lugs 14,
to which are bolted the ends of the transverse connecting plate 15, that serves to connect the plates 1l and 12 together, while at the same time forming a f oot or hand rest to hold the wringer closed.
The hearing plate `12, opposite the hinge plate 11, is provided upon the inner edge thereof and atits upper end with a curved or C-shaped combined hinge and catch hook 16, that is adapted to have a loose' interlocking connection with a reversely disposed hook 17, formed integrally on the inner upper end of the bearing arm 1, and the interlocking hook connections 16 and 17 serve to lock the separate parts of the wringer together while at the same time admitting of the opening thereof to receive a mop.
To open the wringer for the admission of a mop, it is simply necessary to elevate or swing upward the connected plates 11 and 12, in order to disengage the hook 16, from the hook 17, and by then swinging the roller hearing frame consisting of the connected plates 11 vand l2, on the pivot block 9, the' roller 13, will be carried away from the roller 7, in order to admit a common mop between the two rollers, when the said swinging roller frame may be again locked to the stationary frame consisting of the connected arms l and 2.
Changes in the form, proportion and the minor details of construction may be resorted to withoutdeparting from the 'principle or sacricing any of the advantages of this invention.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed, and desired to be secured by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a mop wringer, a stationary bearing frame adapted to be attached tothe upper edge of a pail or tulo,a roller mounted in said stationary bearing frame, a swinging bearing frame hinged at one end to the stationary frame and detaehably connected at its other endlo said stationary frame, and a roller mounted in said swinging bearing frame, substantially as set forth.
2. In a mop Wringer, a stationary bearing frame adapted to be attached to a pail or tub, a roller mounted in stationary frame,a' swinging bearing frame having a hinged pivotal connection at one end With said statiou ary frame and a separable look connection at its other end with said stationary frame, and a roller mounted in said swinging bearing frame, substantially as set forth.
3. In a mop wringer, opposite connected parallel bearing arms provided at one end with depending attaching straps, one of said bearing arms being further provided at its inner upper end with a curved or C-shaped' hinge and catch hook adapted to interlock with the similar hook of one of said bearing arms, a transverse combined connecting and rest plate connecting the opposite bearing plates, and a 'roller journaled between said bearing plates, substantially as set'forth.
