IMPROVEMENT EN SHOES.

Specication forming part or Letters Patent No. 52,138,

To all 'whom it 'may concern:

Beit known that I, EDWIN GHESTERMAN, of Roxbury, in the county-ot' Norfolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful ImprovementJ in Linings for Boots and Shoes; and I do hereby declare thatvt'he followingyis a full, olear,.and exact description thereof', which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the saine, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part-of this specification. l

This invention is intended'more particularly for application to the rubberboot and shoe 'for which a patent was issued toune on the 27th ot' June, 1865, but may be applied to boots and shoes made of other material.

The invention consists in interposing a' lining of hair, Wool, telt, or some other suitable material between the upper or outside of the bootor 'shoe and the usual lining on the inside of the shoe. l A

or other material of entrance of cold air, and this latter feature boots and shoes. f Boots and shoes thus made will, be found very easy to the feet and conducive to health andcomto'rt, and when the said lining` is applied to my rubber shoeor boot aforesaid `the evils resulting fron cold or wet feet will .be .entirely overcome.

l do not claim lining the inside of shoe With-fur, cloth fabrics, or the like, as I am aware that this has been done before; but What I claim as new, and desire to secure' .by Letters Patent, is
