TIME-INDICATOR FOR TAKING MEDICINE.

My invention consists of an indicator for the time of taking medicine composed as hereinafter described and claimed, and provided with a dial having hour-numbers and a blank thereon, whereby when medicine is to he changed, the dial may show said blank, so that the medicine in the bottle to which the device is affixed may not be taken.

Referring to the drawings:'-A designates an indicator formed of aface plate B with an opening 0 therein, and a dial D which is cen- On the dial is a circular row of numbers corresponding to the twelve hours of a clock, and a blank figure E which is also in the circle of said numbers, it being noticed that the opening 0 is so disposed that the numbers and figure may be successively seen through the same when the dial is rotated.
Connected with the top of the plate B is a string of cord F, a portion of which is held between the label G and the bottle H to which said label is gummed or pasted, thus securing the indicator to the bottle, and freely suspending the same, whereby it may be readily handled, in which condition the bottle with the indicator as thus attached thereto comes from the apothecary. It will be seen that the dial may be turned to indicate the hour when a dose of medicine or the next dose thereof is to be taken, thus insuring accuracy thereof. hen the medicine is-changed, and
that in the present bottle is not to be taken, the dial is turned, whereby the blank figure E is presented at the opening 0, the figures representing the hours thus not appearing, the effect of which is evident.
For purposes of cheapness and simplicity, the plate and dial are made of suitable pa per, paste-board, card-board, &c., the same being centrally connected by an eyelet K which forms the axis of the dial.
In order to attach the cord F to the indicator, the face plate B has an upward exteusion forming a lip J, in which is an opening or eye J for the connection of said cord, the latter thus being removed from the periphery of the dial, so that the latter is not interfered with in its rotation by contact with said cord.
On the lower end of the face plate B is an abutment or projecting tongue L, against which the thumb may take hold while the dial D is turned by the fingers, it being also seen that the dial D is of greater diameter than the said face plate, so that the projecting periphery of the same maybe readily engaged by the fingers, in order to effectthe turning of thedial.
The lip or projection J and tongue L extend beyond the edge of the dial so that there is no interference with the dial when the said projection and tongue are held by the thumb and fingers.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A time indicator for the purpose named, consisting of a face plate with an opening therein, and provided with an upward extension or lip with an opening therein, and a depending tongue opposite said lip, and a dial pivoted to said face plate having a-series of numbers, and a blank space thereon, said dial being wider than said face plate and said lip and tongue extending beyond the edge of the said dial, said parts being combined substantially as described.
