- myinvention consists in combining four simple ingredients in proportionate quantities, which produce a healing-salve from which certain beneficial results are obtained by its application to eruptions of the human body, the said salve being composed as follows: first, one ounce of red precipitate; second, three ounces of Venice turpentine; third, six ounces of white lard; fourth, two ounces of pure water. Theseingredients I mix together in an earthen or other vessel, which I close at the mouth with a stopper, and place in a warm room for three days, shaking up the same three or four times a day. On the fourth day my salve is ready for use.

IMPROVED SALVE.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 51,805, dated January 2, 1866.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DAVID \V. CRAFT, of New York, county of New York, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Medical Com position entitled Grandmothers Salt-Rheum Salve and Ido hereby declare the same is fully described in the following specification, viz
The nature of myinvention consists in combining four simple ingredients in proportionate quantities, which produce a healing-salve from which certain beneficial results are obtained by its application to eruptions of the human body, the said salve being composed as follows: first, one ounce of red precipitate; second, three ounces of Venice turpentine; third, six ounces of white lard; fourth, two ounces of pure water. Theseingredients I mix together in an earthen or other vessel, which I close at the mouth with a stopper, and place in a warm room for three days, shaking up the same three or four times a day. On the fourth day my salve is ready for use.
By a gentle rubbing of the salve, salt-rheuin, itching and corroding tetter, (low-worm or scald-head, ring-Worm, barbers or Jacksons itch, and other eruptions of the human body are removed, as can be proved by many successful experiments. Besides this my salve is an infallible remedy for diseases of the human hair.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
